An arrow, starting from rest, leaves the bow with a speed of 29.0 m/s. If the average force exerted on the arrow by the bow was increased 5 times and the arrow was accelerated over the same distance, then with what speed would the arrow leave the bow?

Using Work = Force times Distance, the change would mean you the bow does 5 times as much work on the arrow, so the arrow will have 5 times as much kinetic energy.

But since the formula for kinetic energy is KE = (1/2) m v^2
v = √(2(KE)/m)

If you multiply the KE by 5 without changing the mass, you will only get √5 times the velocity. So your answer is 29√5 m/s
